Natalie Borden - IBCLC CD/PCD(DONA)

I have always had a passion for caring for others. Originally from Saskatchewan, my husband and I moved to Calgary in 2006. After the birth of our daughter, my eyes were opened to the wonder that is motherhood. Two more daughters followed her, and our household was complete.

Shortly after the birth of our youngest, a close friend asked me to support her during her own daughter’s birth. Supporting others during the birth and postpartum period sparked a joy inside of me to learn more. In November of 2015 I began my educational journey as a Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Counselor. Support and connection are vital during the postpartum period and in 2016 I created Calgary Breastfeeding Support on Facebook. This group is a safe space for families to come together, share their experiences and access evidence-based information. I very quickly realized there was so much more to learn and obtained my credentials as a La Leche League Leader in 2017 and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2020.

I utilize my vast education and experience to help others during an intimate and emotional time in both paid and volunteer roles. Over the years I have been invited into the homes of many to educate and help them transition into parenthood. I am excited to share my knowledge with other professionals as an Educator to support a healthier community. It is my belief that birth and breastfeeding are normal physiological processes that are better experienced with additional support and education.
